LORD!!!!!:WHY IYANYA PARTED WAYS WITH MAVIN RECORDS:

Feelers emanating from different sources suggest that Nigerian popstar Iyanya might no longer be having a swell time at the Don Jazzy led Mavin Records as the label had allegedly failed to deliver on the promises made to the singer upon inking the deal.
In 2016, Iyanya had penned a record deal with Mavin records after he parted ways with Made Men Music Group which he co-owned with Ubi Franklin, leading fans to anticipate a wave of new music and a resurgence of the man that made Kukere a national anthem. At Mavin, he announced his arrival with Don Jazzy and Dr Sid on Up2Something.
One year later, it appears not all is well.

The rumours of a possible rift between Iyanya and Mavin were further fueled after the label known for always tweeting and celebrating their artistes failed to wish the singer a happy birthday when the singer clocked thirty one a few weeks ago; only Don Jazzy did on his personal handle.
Neither Iyanya or any member of Mavin Records have confirmed any of these speculations, but the singers latest move validates these speculations.

Iyanya had just released a new single titled ‘Iyanu (Holy Water)’ and the Mavin Records emblem was conspicuously missing from the artwork as it is also missing from the official music video which was released on Tuesday. The only logo that is visibly represented in the artwork and music video is that of Temple Management – a management company which he has been affiliated with since February.
This writer spoke to a Mavin representative who simply answered the queries with a one-liner: No comment.
Similarly, a close associate of Iyanya’s declined to speak officially on the matter. ‘We cannot say anything at this moment because the other camp (Mavin) has not yet revealed what the situation is so we’ll just observe for now,’ we were told.
Since joining Mavin Records, Iyanya has successfully released the Signature EP; an eight-track tape which made very little impact and he has also embarked on a European tour that ended in October.
However, Mavin Records had a lukewarm year by their own standards and may the reason for Iyanya’s discontentment: apart from a handful of singles, the label did not deliver major hits as they are known to do. Korede Bello‘s Belloved album came out earlier in the year but was overshadowed by hotter records. Tiwa Savage‘s Sugarcane has continued to make waves since its release only a few weeks ago but it is a far cry from a groundbreaking project.
